Evapor-8 System featured at StormCon ’07 international conference

Increasing interest in the Evapor-8 System was apparent at the well attended technical paper presentation on the system at StormCon ’07, the largest international stormwater conference in Phoenix, Arizona in August 2007.

The paper described the performance of the system at a UK Airport Fire Training Ground. By using the power of natural evaporation to dispose of foam contaminated runoff in combination with water reuse, no discharge to watercourse is needed for the large paved area, providing total environmental protection against pollution of the surrounding water resources.

The key to the system is the use of below pavement storage and using the drying power of the sun and wind to evaporate the water, drawn from the cell, using spray systems with sophisticated control systems. The power cost to operate the system has been calculated at £26 a year, and there is the potential for micro-renewables to be used to make the system carbon neutral.
